Julian Lennon Releases Lo-Fi Mix of “Save Me”

Julian Lennon releases a new take on the popular track “Save Me” off his latest album, Jude, which came out last fall. The Lo-Fi remix replaces the original’s stirring piano intro and crescendo with atmospheric and lingering electronic beats.

The song comes from a deep, emotional place of self-reflection as Julian dealt with isolation during the pandemic. When he was being “held captive inside his own home,” he finally had to come face to face with himself. While the world stayed still outside, Julian stood in front of a mirror one evening with no distractions to run away to. Within that moment, he truly understood, “You are the only one that can change your life.”

“When it [Quarantine] got extended and kept going on, the fear set in. You just didn’t know what was going in the world or how this was going to end. It was about looking in the mirror and finding some level of peace.”

The remix takes the inspiring theme of saving yourself to an electric breaking point.
