David Archuleta Opens Rose Parade Performance

David Archuleta stunned the entire Rose Parade crowd with his spectacular opening performance. He sang beside famed artists, Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams, “The Voice” champion Cassadee Pope, and popular Los Angeles producer and DJ Rush Davis. The group’s unparalleled performance drew the largest crowd since the pandemic, with over 800,000 attendees.

David opened the first shot of the parade, with an iconic image. He looked up to the camera as he made his way through a breathtaking tunnel of roses. He belted out a stunning rendition of Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars,” while wearing an incredible metallic outfit. Over 50 million people from 171 countries across the globe watched his performance.

His song choice was a perfect match for this year’s theme and partnering float. He kicked off the opening spectacular on presenting sponsor, Honda’s, “Keep Dreaming” float. The song “Chasing Cars” kept with Honda’s vehicle-themed entry that showed off their futuristic electric cars, jets, and space tech that inspire all to keep dreaming of a better future.

David also epitomized the parade’s theme- “Celebrating a World of Music”- showing us that in “a world of different cultures, beliefs, hopes, and dreams, one language unites us all -- music.” His performance brought millions together in joy and celebration on New Year’s Day.

David revealed how coming back to Pasadena was a very special moment for him. His historic rise to American Idol runner-up all began at The Langham Hotel in Pasadena. There, he won his golden ticket to go to Hollywood and overnight became a household name.

He looked back on 2023 as a year of “really wonderful growth” while teasing his upcoming album in 2024 and new projects that will feature “other types of writing.”

Over 1.1 million people have watched David’s performance and the entire parade online- Watch NOW!
