David Archuleta Unveils Heartfelt Music Video for "Hell Together" in People Magazine

David Archuleta debuts his latest music video, "Hell Together," a touching recognition to his mother's unwavering support amidst his departure from the Mormon church. Exclusively premiering on PEOPLE, the video captures the emotional journey of departure and newfound freedom.

"The video encapsulates the conflicting emotions of leaving behind a place once integral to your identity, yet no longer aligning with your truth."

Set against the majestic backdrop of a church, the video intertwines David’s soulful piano performance with Olivia Cava's expressive dance, symbolizing the song's poignant narrative. Delving into his personal experience, Archuleta reflects on the internal struggle of parting ways with familiarity.

The 33-year-old singer, who publicly came out as queer in 2021 and subsequently left the Mormon church, pours his heart into the lyrics, singing of the unbreakable bond between mother and son.

"She expressed, 'I don't want to be somewhere where my children don’t feel welcomed, loved, and accepted ... if you’re going to Hell, we are all going to Hell with you.'"

Recalling a pivotal moment in their relationship, Archuleta reveals his mother's profound declaration of solidarity, highlighting her unconditional love and acceptance.

The music video also pays tribute to his mother's passion for dance, featuring rare home footage of her as a young mother. David acknowledges her influence, explaining the significance of the dancing in the video.

The release of "Hell Together" coincides with David’s recent appearance on American Idol, where he moved audiences with his performance. Expressing his gratitude to his mother for inspiring the song, Archuleta shares a touching moment onstage with host Ryan Seacrest, affirming the song's beauty and significance.
